In 2003 Darren sold his belongings and set off on a global adventure.  He spent the next 4 years traveling, studying, and volunteering, working in over 25 countries Worldwide. It was natural for Darren to absorb the various techniques for eco-building that have been in existence for many years in parts of  Europe, asia and Australia. The environmentally friendly traditional lifestyles that are diminishing in other countries are what he sought to experience, and now aims to preserve.

Darren’s passion and involvement in fitness, boxing, cycling, yoga and various healing arts aided him to compete in several athletic events.  Cycling has taken Darren across 5 countries, covering the equivalent of Los Angeles to china. “I’ve found great joy in the process of Physical challenge”.

In India, he lived, studied and travelled for one year, eventually meeting and studying with both B.K.S. Iyengar and the Dali Lama.   

In Thailand, Darren lived and studied Thai massage Therapy, Chinese medicine, and Asian Culinary. In Dec 2004, when the Tsunami happened, Darren went to work as a volunteer. First, on a press trip distributing aid, then, through an invitation from the Thai Army and US Special forces.  He took on construction projects, joining a team of other builders rebuilding homes.

In 2005, Darren went to work in Australia with a progressive Residential Developer.

In 2006, Darren’s founded an “eco-logical” business, Ecovations™ , to support the use of sustainable building practices and lifestyle choices. Ecovations Lifestyle Inc is an alternative building methods and materials innovator.

With Ecovations, Darren is “eco-vating” buildings in the Los Angeles area and consulting nationwide.
